One of the important details of completing the final appearance of the furniture are mounts serving as handrails to open the door and furniture outlets. The correct choice of size, shape and material of mounts influences the design and functionality of the furniture (for example, some mounts are not appropriate for the retractable door, the other are not appropriate to use for the sliding doors). At the Czech and Slovak market is the big amount of manufacturers and retailers offering a huge selection of the furniture fittings.

Materials for mounts
The most frequently used are metal mounts. Their advantage is the variability of surface treatment (matte and shiny chrome, aluminum, stainless steel, brass …), unlimited possibilities of shapes and sizes, high strength, permanency of the material and easy maintenance and cleaning.
Less solid and still are the wood mounts. They are most often made of beech, oak, spruce or pine, and if they are not already painted, the manufacturer can stain them with the same hue, which will have your furniture. Wood mounts can be produced and the rate - in this case, you can choose from more exotic plants. Frequently used wooden mounts will need some repaint later.
Plastic mounts are at first sight same as metal ones, but I don’t recommend their use because of the poor strength.Furniture mounts are also made from other materials and combinations - glass and leather are just some of them.
Types of mounts
The mounts are divided not only by the type of material but also by way of attachment to the door. The most common way is to consolidate mounts on the door by one or two screws. Distance between the two screws is about 32 mm, which also defines the width of mount. It is now popular to use milled or glued mounts. In this case, it depends on you what will be their width - they are delivered in the 3 metres length and manufacturer of furniture will reduce them to any size (for example, the entire width of the door).
